Let's start with the possessive adjectives (les adjectifs possessifs). In French, they agree with the following noun. But in the plural, there is no difference between masculine and feminine.

his, her, its son sa ses
our notre notre nos
your votre votre vos
their leur leur leurs

Examples:

  • C'est le chat de Marie ; c'est son chat.
    It is Marie's cat ; it is her cat.
  • Mon père travaille dur.
    My father works hard.
  • Nous avons trouvé tes chaussures.
    We have found your shoes.
  • Nous gardons leurs enfants.
    We are looking after their children.
